At a loss for a journal entry title so i think penguins are always funny. Anyway I am at the h.o.b. in orlando and we just finished playing. I am overlooking STD's set while I type this and they sound great...but tonight we get even. Adam and I have hatched a master plan to get halloween revenge on them. More on this later. Crazy happenings tonight on stage...really fun to play again after 2 days off. We were joined by Vinnie from Brand New during the end of timberwolves..he and fred shared a mic. Its always super fun to have special guests.

ah, sunny orlando florida..i can't say that i am to big of a fan of the humidity but it is so damn warm and sunny that being in a bad mood about it would be like spitting at the rain..pointless...
i get this sinking feeling sometimes, deep like in my bones, and the second that i step foot on a stage or hold a conversation with you guys it does things for me that cannot explain...no amount of self medication can match it... i owe all of you more than you will ever know, you have given us the greatest gift i have ever received...understanding. thank you, truely sincerly, thank you.
we have been away from the bus for two days now and i am looking forward to a timberlake dance party...i need the ringing in my ears...i need the eddie's spin teasing the outer regions of my pupil's...i cannot wait for saves the day to play tonight...
in austin we got to see recover, not play, unfortunetly, but we all got to hang out and i swear that if i wasn't on tour i would do everyhitng in my power to keep them within a ten foot radius of me at all times...they heal me. showtime.

warmups it is...
more later.
adam.

so i can't say exactly where i am right now but i know that if you ask ed what the name chico means to him he will go on and on about his dog and how smart it is...i havnt ever met this dog but from the stories that i hear from friends, it is in all actuallity a smart dog. it found a dinosaur egg. now, whether the town or the dog was named first i do not know but i think in this huge world of ours there is definetly room for both. so cheers.
last night i ate nacho's making last night the fifth night in a row that i have eaten nacho's. i found that morning star farms pepperjack cheese added to pre-exsisting nacho's is not only superb but adds just the right amount of spice needed to complete the full nacho eating experiance. i cut my bangs like an ass today and i look retarded, fair enough. i hope everyone is well...read a book.

we've been in san francisco soaking it up for 2 days now. i'm in our hotel room with a view of the bay which is super rad. thursday we had a day off and i skated from one side of the city to the other. we had a crazy day yesterday. we played an acoustic show in the morning and then a radio show and then the show at warfield at night. i got some news that we're going to be doing another tv appearance really soon so once that's confirmed we'll put that up. michael jackson dance parties are still the craze on our bus everynight. long live dancing. talk to you soon.

soundcheck is coming up fast so i figured i would test out my typing skills and drop you killah's a line to say what up... jeff has unknowingly left his computer in the production room and my uncanny exploring skills have led me to the almighty inter-web and an endless vast highway of tabloids and nonsense...i have been trying desperatly to stay away from this damned machine but given the time restraints i figure my a.d.d. shouldn’t kick in for another five or ten minutes...
so yeah, we are having a blast, the saves the day and taking back sunday camp both ventured into casinos last night in search of saint louis but ended up leaving with a couple dollars missing...
congrats to mr. connelly for walking out the big winner after many tough decisions involving the color red and a small white ball that spins at what seems to be the speed of light... eben rocked his new look "smoldering" for the both of us forcing the dealer to advance in our favor but to no avail time and luck both ran out and we cashed out to find the colors of the chips arn't that appealing when turned into dollar bills...
matt "the big rubano", fred "the mascherino", and i later greeted the sun to the cinematic masterpiece known to all as batman forever and an endless sea of commercials we found in the parking lot of the holiday inn, it was a glorious day off...
jeff "p.m.t.m." thinks he can see blue sometimes, that's his boy. baby stu freebird has been wearing this yellow cowboy shirt that makes him out to look like a small brown version of the style guy from queer eye for the straight guy which by the way i have missed endless episode's of, for the sake of rock of course, but a lot none the less..
i woke up this morning very confused and cranky as usual, i thought i was on a plane but as it turns out it was just missouri, go figure...
the mars volta is playing tonight across town after our show so hopefully we will have enough time to get out there and catch their set...
saves the day still hasn't added the song "monkey" to their set yet but i think if i keep badgering them they might...
adam="are you guys going to play monkey tonight"
s.t.d.="no."
adam="tommorow?"
s.t.d.="are you serious?"
etc. etc. etc.
we fit 15 people into an elevator yesterday upon which P.M.T.M. called "dance break" and gave eddie his second heart attack...genius. i just broke my second cigarette today and P.M.T.M has just informed me that our video has finally been unleashed onto the general public so heads up...the flav is on it's way.
also, if anyone knows the whereabouts of a certain mark "moneybags" o'connell if you could please contact baby stu freebird as soon as possible the drums are in need of checking and there is some polo gear about the bus with missing there owner... if you are getting this note, the house has been boarded up, the windows the doors everything...we are at the comfort inn, room 110..

Hey all...In about an hour we will play the house of blues in chicago and its another exciting day on the road. LOST AND FOUND NOTICE!! last night at the MSU show, I was hit in the chest with a silver bracelet from the audience. I picked it up in between songs and realized that it was inscribed with a great Ralph Waldo Emerson quote, "What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us..." until next time..

Matt (of Taking Back Sunday) 9.27.03

We were all so amped after the show in cleveland that TBS, STD, and moneen all piled into cabs in search of the infamous Wednesday night 80's dance party. We arrived and it wasnt quite the super party we had expected but Kenny from Moneen kicked it off perfectly. That dude has more energy than a speed freak at a speed factory on free speed day. TBS was in top form (I still cant beleive we lost on IMX....freakin' mark) Eddie pulled his patented moves. Adam was smooth as glass and Eben from Saves.. took the award for best moves and best outfit. (For some reason the club had a weird pirate motif complete with pirate ships...Eben was wearing a blue blazer with a matching captains hat.) Until next time...I'll stop the world and melt with you.

Chris (of Saves The Day) 9.26.03

Hey everyone.

This is Chris from Saves The Day. How's it going with y'all? So, we're now a few weeks into our tour with TBS and Moneen and the shows have been mind boggling to say the least. The kids each night are so enthusiastic. We watch in disbelief as hundreds upon hundreds of kids stream into the venues in each city. Who knew there were so many people that wanted to watch all of us make music? Pretty cool. I have to say thank you to all of you who have been out there spreading the word. Without you guys, this would be a painful process for all of us to get our music out there. But you guys are out there talking about the shows and hollering about the albums, and it pays off. Like I said before, there's only so much we can do before our bodies collapse. So, you guys are just as important and we want you to know that and to feel that. We are so appreciative of all your efforts. Hopefully we'll see some of you guys as we make our way across the country. The shows seem to be getting better and better each night, so if you're free when we're in your area, please stop by if you can to watch us all in action. Thank you guys one billion times for all the energy you put into being a Fanscape team member. We are in debt to you. Thank you thank you thank you! Love, Chris

So, 2:52am here in the van. We're driving to Jersey tonight in case there's hurricane traffic tomorrow. We're hoping everything's cool with the show because it's right on the water. Things are going to be crazy for the next few days because after tomorrow's show, we're flying to play in Arizona Saturday, then off to Los Angeles where we'll be celebrating Adam's birthday Monday! I'm gonna pass it off to Matt here...

...greetings from just over the N.J. border...this trip has been quite something so far. I'm still overwhelmed by this entire experience but there isnt anywhere I'd rather be right now. (Maybe sleeping but thats it) I feel so fortunate to have made so many friends @ the shows lately: The guys in Saosin, Moneen, My Chemical Romance, Saves the Day, and all the amazing people I have met before and after the shows.

It amazes me the lenghts to which some people go to get to these cities to see the band play. Alyssa took 2 trains and a bus to get to her 18th TBS show tonight in R.I., (10 shows since I have been in the band) and althought the storm warnings would cause most to hesitate, she is working on getting a ride to asbury park for another one. I starting to repeat myself with this stuff, but the people that come to shows are so amazing and when I'm playing I feel so close to them and I am very lucky to be where I am right now. Special thanks to the TBS mafia for my shirt and to all the old school TBS lovers for their overwhelming support and compliments. 'I want to have you all over for dinner. How"s tuesday? I am so excited about the new songs we have been writing and performing and the feedback has been great. I promise to deliver a great record when we get the chance to make one. We have been getting along like brothers and having a great time. We get all eager and giddy before the shows and we cant wait to play each day. Thank you...sleepy time.

Oh and by the way, is anyone getting the hang of dance break?? Its simple and if you try it, I guarantee-fun. We call "DANCE BREAK!", proceed to drop a funky beat and you shake your body parts (dance). spread the word. Also, lookout for "EARTHQUAKE!" in the future.
